Indulge in the tantalizing fusion of flavors with the Old Cuban cocktail – a lively concoction that’s one part Mojito, one part French 75. Get ready to embark on a flavor adventure because this drink is not just a sip, it’s a celebration!

Picture this: Minty freshness colliding with the sophisticated dance of bitters, while hints of vanilla and coconut from the aged rum add a touch of tropical magic. But hold on, because here comes the grand finale – a splash of effervescent champagne, turning this masterpiece into the ultimate elixir of joy!

ingredients

  • 6 mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • ¾ ounce (1 ½ tablespoons) fresh lime juice
  • ¾ ounce* (1 ½ tablespoons) simple syrup
  • 1 ½ ounces (3 tablespoons) aged rum
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 ounces (¼ cup) champagne (we like this paired with Moet & Chandon or B.Stuyvesant - Blanc de Blanc)

directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the mint leaves with lime juice and simple syrup. Add the rum and bitters and fill the cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until cold, then strain into cocktail glass.
  2. Top with the champagne. Garnish with additional mint.
